Lord Shiva's temples are seen around us. But there are different types of temples of Lord Shiva. In some temples Lord Idol of Lord Shiva is worshiped. But in some temples, the statue of Lord Shiva is not kept, but in such temples Lord Shiva's Shivling is worshiped.
But there is also the temple of any god or goddess is protected from it completely.. The meaning of this is to say that whenever a temple is built, it is made entirely, it is never kept incomplete. But some temples have been deliberately half but there is no reason behind it.
Something similar is the temple of Lord Shiva which is in Gujarat. The special thing about this temple is that it was made entirely but due to some mystery the roof of this temple was not constructed.
After understanding this, anybody can be surprised, because after constructing any temple, it has been built to make the roof, but a great and magnificent temple of Gujarat is not just the roof. The name of this temple is the Galeteshwar Temple.
Why the Gultevwar temple of Gujarat is not roof ? complete history !
After all, it is very important to know why there is no roof in this temple. Because of this, even today, despite all the facilities in this temple, even a small terrace is not present in this temple, we are going to give you today.
The famous and magnificent Galleswar Temple of Lord Shiva is situated in a small village Sarnal in Kheda district of Gujarat.
This holy temple built in the 12th century has been built in the famous land of Malwa style, but when this temple was built, then it had no effect on the Parmar style and the Gujarati Chalukya style.
The sanctum sanctorum of this temple is completely quadrangle and the temple of this temple is also octagonal.
History of the temple of Galatheeshwar Mahadev
Lord Ganesha temple of Lord Shiva is situated at the confluence of Mahi and Galati river, and it is said that the famous Golwani Muni Chandrahas were also present at that time.
Located on the banks of this river, situated on the banks of the river Mahi, Shiva is situated in this beautiful temple, still water falls on the water of the river Galti.
This temple has eight armored buildings. On the walls of this temple, all these paintings are seen in the Goddess, Gandharva, Man, Rishi Muni, Horse Rider, Elephant Rider, Chariot, Doli, Life Cycle of Humans.
Characteristics of Galatheeshwar Mahadev Temple
This beautiful temple made in carving of red stones is made in eight arms. This temple built during Solanki's reign is still in good condition. On the walls of this temple are pictures of Goddesses, humans, chariots, horsemen, elephants.
The travelers pass here to the idol of Lord and later put a forehead and they do not pay attention to their carving.
On entering the sanctum of this temple, one's meditation can easily be reached on the roof of this temple, because the roof of this temple is very different from the roofs of other temples.
Actually there is no roof of any kind in this temple. Why are not two reasons behind the roof of this temple?
The first thing is that this temple was built by Lord Shiva himself. They did not want anyone to see them while making this temple, so that God build the temple at night and go ahead of the day.
But sadly, they could not make this temple completely.
According to this story, when Mahmood Ghazi was going to plunder the treasure of the Somnath temple, his eyes fell on the Galteshwar temple and he completely destroyed the roof of this temple.
Architecture of Galteshwar Temple
Located in Gujarat, the Galeteshwar Temple is built in the Bhadge style and it is very ancient style of Gujarat which is very difficult to see. During Malwa's reign, this land style was quite famous.
It is very difficult to see the Ashtavadra Temple, and this temple is one of those temples. In Central India, the temple built in the Bhadge style is very rare, as the temple is built in the Aranga style of the forested style.
The Temple of Galeeshwar is completely untouched by Parmar style. This temple is a type of darkness, in which special attention is given to the sanctuary and the pavilion.
The Sanctuary
The main sanctum of this temple is located below the surface of the pavilion, as well as the sanctum sanctorum of this temple is made in four arms from inside. But this temple is circular outside, whose diameter is 24 feet.
In all the directions of the temple there are pictures of the patron Dev Dikpal of all directions. Lord Shiva has been depicted in different incarnations on the wall which is before the temple, but now all the images of Lord Shiva are completely bad.
The entrance to the temple has been embellished with Rupshalbah and it is called the style of Abu. Pictures of Gandharva, ascetic, horse, elephant, chariot and palanquin are made on the walls of the temple.
The pavilion
The Mandap of this temple has been erected in eight sides and seeing this reminds of the temples built during the Chalukya of Gujarat.
This temple is similar to that of Mandir, Somnath temple, and Sejakpur temple of Modhera built during Chalukya's reign. In the back part of the pavilion, three arms are visible in exchange for two arms.
This pavilion has eight pillars from inside and sixteen smaller columns outside, due to which the roof of the pavilion has been completely protected.
The inner pillars of the temple are made in the shape of a quadrangle, they have also been cut down on some edges. The four sides of the columns were made in the third part of this pillar and the octagonal knobs were made in half of the bottom.
Even after this, sixteen separate and rounded columns were earmarked in Kirtimukh. The last of these columns shows the leaves of the falling trees below.
In 1908, both the peak of the temple and the Pavilion fell. The shrine of this temple was also built in the Bharuga style of Gujarat, which included Kutastambika and Shring also.
Surasenaaka Shikhar, built in the Bhadja style, is also located in this temple, but all such peaks are very different from Parmar style.
