ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) was formed in India as a result of an act passed on July 1, 1949. Chartered accountant members of ICAI are considered to be prestigious. The motto of ICAI is that it awakens in the sleeping people. Chartered accountants are promised to follow ICAI regulation. Chartered professionals work in various fields like professional finance, auditing, taxation, general management and much more. They also provide consultancy services on other technical services, career and business development. History of Chartered Accountants Day
In 1930, the Indian government planned to maintain a register of accountants and registered accountants in their roster and offered them title, registered accountant. It was in 1948 that the expert committee suggested the formation of regulation of increasing the autonomous body. Till then, many Indian Chartered Accountants have become members of ICAI in England and Wales. On July 1, 1949, the Chartered Accountant Act was passed, and the ICAI came into existence, and the term Chartered Accountant was used instead of the Register Accountant. Since then, Chartered Accountants Day was celebrated in India as ICAI Establishment Day or CA Day.
