I, Ashwin Chawla - I am going to give a short speech to your host, Mahatma Gandhi this evening. As you all know that Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti is approaching, our team decided to organize a small function in memory of Mahatma Gandhi, one of our great freedom fighters.
I personally am very fond of the basic policy of Mahatma Gandhi and his non-violence and the path of non-violence which he had adopted from the British while fighting for the country's independence. His aura was so impeccable that he attracted hundreds and millions of people and gathered a great force to force the British to leave India. Needless to mention, he was the best leader of India's struggle for independence and was also the architect of the Nonviolent Civil Disobedience Movement, which actually influenced the whole world.
He did not take his life for himself but for the deprived and weak sections of society, who can not fight for their rights. Through his constant efforts, he helped increase the consciousness of the people and helped to eradicate the consciousness of sex, caste and class. I am sure that we all know that when he was born, that day, on 2 October 1869, in Porbandar, the coastal city of Gujarat, and went abroad to study law. He was the leader in fighting for the civil rights of Indian citizens.
He was actually a 'Mahatma', which means "Great Spirit", as he believed in Almighty Vishnu God and followed religiousism. Above and above all, he spied on the policy of non-violence, including meditation, fasting and vegetarianism. He not only worked in his country, but also traveled to other countries and tried for the betterment of the world. He could not see evil forces in any part of the world and used to work with his full potential to give his opinion to the world. He stayed for some time in South Africa and continued to study world religions. He once wrote there, "The religious spirit inside me became a living power". He devoted himself to studying the revered spiritual texts of the Hindus and believed that he was living the life of penance, simplicity, celibacy and fasting, who did not seek any materialistic existence.
In the year 1915, Gandhiji laid the foundation for an ashram in Ahmedabad city, which was open to all castes. He spent his entire life without any tremendous and devoted himself to prayer, mediation and fast as well as donating only a simple loincloth.
Unfortunately, even Mahatma Gandhi, such a great person had to suffer the timeless times because he was put behind the bars in 1932. The reason behind their imprisonment was that they had gone on fasting for six days to raise objections against them. As of October 2, on Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary, I enjoy the immense pleasure of giving a speech to Mahatma Gandhi as a role model. I want to thank everyone for giving me the opportunity to speak about the greatest man in our country.
You all might be wondering why Gandhiji is considered to be a role model by thousands of fellow Indians like us? Many people around the world regard them as a symbol of peace and non-violence. It is always said that in situations even in the situations Gandhi has done what he thinks and does. Every day we hear the stories of students like us and then we completely forget Indian culture. Gandhiji was the only person who had never forgotten his country despite the foreign travel of many countries and returned after completing his studies and fought for freedom for Indian society.
Gandhiji was very clear about his ideas for liberating India from the British. He wanted fellow Indians to understand that we do not need anyone to rule ourselves; We are self-reliant in any way. This was the most important reason that Gandhi persuaded Indians to leave foreign clothes and to adopt Khadi made by Indian mills and to make salt from their own seas. On the day the Dandi March happened, it was clearly understood how Gandhiji was influential, because in March every social group of the society had participated so that the British people would eliminate salt tax.
We all admire Gandhiji for various reasons, it is imprisonment many times, supporting women to any extent and this is the only reason that in today's times women play a great political and social role. It is not only the great people who support Gandhiji, but also the great men like Martin Luther King have adopted their strategy of nonviolence to establish Apartheid rule. We should give a grand salute to India as well as to sacrifice our whole life to serve mankind. Due to their simple lifestyle and personality, people were attracted to him only. He spent his entire life working towards the removal of the British from India.
All of us are very impressed with the thought of Gandhiji's tolerance and sometimes we all apply it in our life when the situation goes out of hand. The discipline of peace which we now read in India, was a step forward to take Gandhiji's views forward, which will also affect future generation. He used passive resistance not only on the personal level, but also to fight social evils such as untouchability, caste system etc. His worship of God was seen in his service to mankind and even when he was killed, his last breath was also enchanted with the name of God.

As you all know, we have gathered today to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi and celebrate his birth anniversary. Therefore, I consider the Shreyashash from standard IX (A) as a great honor to address this occasion on this important day.
Who does not know Mahatma Gandhi, ie Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi's popular name, Bapu, who was born on 2 October 1869 His father's name was Karam Chand Gandhi, who took charge of the Diwan. Rajkot State. His mother's name was Putlibai, a devout and devout woman. If I were told about their early childhood days, then I would say that he was like any other average student, who started school at the age of seven. But he was a regular student and punctual in his class.
Her husband's name is Kasturba, whom she married at the age of 13. She went to England to enroll herself for the study of law after her matriculation and studies in college. There he was qualified as barrister and returned to his native place. He started his practice in Mumbai and then left for Rajkot, but he could not become a successful lawyer. He once went to South Africa with one of his cases. There he stayed for nearly two decades and during that he observed the disgusting situation of the Indians.
He created a brave front against the injustices of white men against Indians in many ways. One of the unbearable attributes given to them was 'Porter'. There, he started running an ashram under the name of Tolstoy Farm. There they laid the foundation of the Natal Indian Congress. This is due to their efforts that the Indian Relief Act was accepted in the year 1914. Of course, it helped him improve the conditions of many Indians. In the year 1915, he returned to India and formed a coalition with the Congress. He also launched a great historical movement against the British called Satyagraha movement. It was under his leadership that in order to oppose the unfair laws of the Congress government, Congress started the non-cooperation and non-violence movement. Then there was Dandi March which happened under his auspices, which did not follow the salt law and caused the breakdown.
In the year 1942, he started another movement, which was called the "Quit India" movement and he forced the British to leave our country. After all, India achieved their independence on August 15, 1947 under their successful leadership.
A person wearing a pea-cloth with a rough body has a magical effect on others. He believed in living a simple life without any ostentation. A poor village called Sevagram was a place where he used to live and live his life. It was from there that they tried to free India from the bondage of slavery. In addition to fighting for the nation's independence, he also addressed other issues which were brokering in our country, such as discrimination on the basis of caste, class and gender.
He also worked for the good of the Harijans. After all, when India got back its independence, Gandhiji visited Noakhali, which was influenced by the Hindu-Muslim battle. He observed fast to bring this thing into the house that it is necessary to be peaceful coexistence and to be like brothers. But unfortunately, Bapu could not stay with us for a long time.
In the evening on January 30, 1948, Nathu Ram Godse hung three tablets at the Birla Bhawan site and washed them with bullets, while he was there for the prayer meeting as always. His death ritual was done on the banks of river Yamuna. At present, Rajghat - one place of his tomb, has become a pilgrimage place for people all over the world. I am convinced that all our students and staff should be excited to be part of this wonderful celebration that breaks daily dilemma and brings very excitement in the air. However, before we proceed with our celebration and electrification exhibition, one of our great freedom fighters took a few minutes to remember Mahatma Gandhi, who make a major contribution in redeeming our country's independence. It was the initiation of Satyagraha which was deeply resonated with the socio-cultural beliefs of the people, entered the consciousness of the people deeply and turned this great spiritual leader into becoming a Bapu for his people.
He said that it is very important for a person to constantly fight against their own monsters, insecurity and fear. Gandhiji first expressed his belief in the phrase "God is truth". He later changed his narration by saying that "Truth is God." Thus, in the words of Gandhiji there is nothing other than truth or truth itself. He said that "God is no different from the truth, but in the form of Being (Atman, Brahmin) as the Advaita Vedanta tradition, he supported his beliefs through quotations from Richards." Here is a brief description of some of the remarkable movements he has made:
1. Quit India Movement
In order to end British rule, Mahatma Gandhi launched a historic movement called the Quit India Movement on August 8, 1942, which proved to be the most powerful campaign indeed. Even in this movement, they adopted the path of non-violence, that is, non-violence and truth as their main basis.
2. Dandi March
Popularly known as Dandi March or Salt Satyagraha, there was a movement launched against the unfair policies of the British, which was a policy of collecting tax on salt in our country. 5. Khilafat movement
