SBI PO Exam Pattern
The SBI PO selection process consists of 3 stages. The written examinations are conducted online, followed by an interview round. The structure of exams is as follows:
Phase-1: SBI PO Preliminary Examination
This is an online test where candidates will have to solve the question paper in 100 hours for one hour. There are 3 sections in the test and the candidates have to clear the cut off for each segment. Cut off or minimum passing points for each section are decided every year by the bank on the basis of difficulty of the test. The sectionwise divisions of numbers are given below:
S.No. | Name of Tests(Objective) | No. of Questions | Maximum Marks | Duration |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | English Language | 30 | 30 | Composite time of 1 Hour |
2 | Numerical Ability | 35 | 35 | |
3 | Reasoning Ability | 35 | 35 | |
Total | 100 | 100 |
Phase-2: SBI PO Mains Examination
The SBI PO main examination is a total of 250 marks, which includes an objective test of 200 marks followed by a 50-digit descriptive test. Both objective and descriptive tests will be online. Candidates should answer The purpose of descriptive testing will be done immediately after the completion of the test. There is a different time for each segment.
S.No. | Name of Tests(Objective | No. of Questions | Maximum Marks | Duration |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Reasoning & Computer Aptitude | 45 | 60 | 60 minutes |
2 | Data Analysis & Interpretationy | 35 | 60 | 45 minutes |
3 | General/ Economy/ Banking Awareness | 40 | 40 | 35 minutes |
4 | English Language | 30 | 30 | 40 minutes |
Total | 155 | 200 | 3 hours |
Descriptive Test:
Descriptive testing consists of a 30-minute period with a maximum score of 50 points. It is used to test writing skills in English language through letter writing and essay writing. Only descriptive test paper will be evaluated for those candidates who have scored qualifying marks in the purpose tests and the objective is placed in adequate place as per the total marks in the test.
Penalty for wrong answer:
The purpose of the initial and main examinations is the penalty for wrong answers marked in the tests. The wrong answer to a purposeful question by the candidate will be a penalty of one fourth of the points assigned to that question. For example, for a wrong answer to a question, a penalty of 0.25 points will be deducted, in which there is 1 digit. There will be no penalties for leaving a question blank, i.e. no answer has been marked by the candidate.
Phase-3: Group Exercises & Interview
The total marks of qualified candidates in both objective test and descriptive tests will be arranged in descending order in each category. The adequate number of candidates in each category will be called for group practice and interview as decided by the bank. Eligibility marks in group practice and interview will be decided by the bank. Group practice account for 20 points whereas interviews account for 30 points.
Final Score Calculation for SBI PO Exam:
Considering the following points, final scores are calculated for the SBI PO exam:
- The marks obtained in the initial examination (phase-1) will not be considered for selection
- Candidates will be required to qualify different phase-2 and phase-3
- In the Men's Examination (in 250 points), the number of candidates secured by the number of seats is changed from 75 and the number of secured points in group practice and interview (in 50 points) becomes changed from 25. This should create a new total score (main + GD / PI) 100
- Total score out of 100 is used for the last qualifying list for each category. Candidates with the highest merit ranks in each category are finally selected.
