INDIAN HOME GUARDS
After the Chinese invasion of Indio in October 1962, the Government felt the necessity of forming this organisation so that the personnel of this organisation could relieve the State police personnel from their normal patrol or traffic duties. The functions of the Home Guards are to assist the police in maintaining internal security, to render assistance in case of air raids, fire fighting, epidemics and to man important services in the States.
