Co-education means the education of boys and girls as well as in the same educational institution. In the primary level, co-education has been governed in all countries. Even in the university, it is ruled almost everywhere nowadays. It is also felt that the students of the University who have attained age and developed intellect and proper understanding of their duties and responsibilities should be considered as mature and responsible citizens.

The problems of co-education in the secondary stage were in the previous debate. Students at this stage are in their teens; During this period of life free mixing of sexes, it is organized, can disturb the normal development of their brain. It is so much, at this stage, students are appropriate to be emotional and enthusiastic.

In a large and poor country like India, co-education is advised for at least economic reasons. We can arrange separate benches for boys and girls in classrooms, and can exclude playgrounds. Men and women should also be teachers, who make the task of applying discipline and general supervision easy.

Mainly objection to co-education in Northern India, mainly due to the conservative social prejudices of the people, which was fostered by purdah. But the pace of modern life is rapidly breaking these obstacles.

Co-education is now widely accepted practice, a rule which is an exception. So the number of co-educational colleges is increasing now. The economic factor has been helpful in ensuring this social development. Late marriage forces parents to educate their daughters, while the economic needs of the family increase the supplementation of family income of wives and daughters in order to maintain a higher standard of living. Therefore, the number of girls of different girls is very low and co-education has become inevitable.

Opponents of co-education mainly base on the idea that girls should have different education given to boys. They argue that the field of activities of a girl will be home for a long time, and therefore their education should be sought to change the good mother and housewives. This argument is now considered reactive.

Women, in the most progressive and democratic countries, have given equal rights and opportunities and have given themselves a good account of winning the right competition with boys. Our Constitution, in this regard, is progressive in some form, and our women are full and registering highly responsible posts with dignity and success.

Thus, the problem of co-education should be seen from standpoint of practical requirements instead of theoretical arguments. After all, all problems are not so intense as it was half a century ago when the free mix of boys and girls was a taboo. Remember that trust trusts and Rabindranath started it.
