Veer Kunwar Singh was born in Jagdishpur village of Bhojpur district of Bihar. Some historians point out their date of birth 12 April 1782, then some consider the approximate 1778. He used to go to Zamindari.
In 1826, the responsibility of managing his native landowner on Kunwar Singh came into effect. He used to earn Rs 6 lakh cash per annum from landlord. Kunwar Singh initially did not understand the deceptions of the British. When he understood the malicious policy of the British, he became very angry. In those same days Kunwar Singh gave rise to many revolutionary organizations against the British. This was the first incident in the history of the world, in which 80 year old fighter had challenged the British with the sword.

This entire plan was concluded with the knowledge of Kunwar Singh. Kunwar Singh had set up a factory to build arms and ammunition in the fort of Jagadishpur. Major Iyer planned to attack Jagadishpur.
On August 12, 1857, the British took control of the fort of Kunwar Singh. On the other hand, Kunwar Singh along with his colleagues reached Mirzapur. Chandel Rajput is also with them. Together with Nana Saheb and Tatya Tope, he started composing anarchy against the British.
