Essay on Mosquito - 800 Words
Mosquitoes are small insects living in or near houses. They are found in the whole world. The mosquito's body has three sections, namely the head, thorax and stomach. The head is conical in shape and holds the structure like a long needle, which is called trunk, with which the mosquito bites.
There are a pair of feathers and three pairs of legs in the thorax. Feathers are bent when the mosquito is left The buzzing of mosquitoes arises from the beating of their wings. The female mosquito bites and sucks the blood of humans and pets.
The male mosquito does not bite and lives on the plant's juice. Blood production is necessary to produce eggs. Each bite by the mosquito gets sucked and blood is injected into a small fluid in which the person is itching and restlessness.
The female mosquito lays eggs on the surface of the water in the wells, cisterns, fountains, water intake etc. after sucking blood. In rural areas, this trough reproduces in canals or canals, on the banks of the drains or in the pits of the garden.
They also reproduce the traps of the streets, the masonry tanks and the collection of dirty water surrounding houses and stables. During the season the female mosquito can spawn several times and at one time 100 to 200 even more. There are three main types of mosquitoes that spread diseases. they include:
(i) Anopheles:
Female Anopheles spreads malaria. Anopheles mosquitoes breed in clean water.
(ii) Culex:
Culex mosquitoes are more prevalent than ANOPHILIZE mosquitoes. Women's culex filarias and viral encephalitis spread. Culex mosquitoes grow in dirty and polluted water. Preferred breeding spaces are on the collection of streets, open drains, masonry tanks, earthen pots and houses and dirty water surrounding the stables.
(iii) Aedes mosquito:
Aedes mosquito is also known as Tiger mosquito. It is usually found in homes and marked on a black body with white stripes. Due to these stripes on their body they are called 'Tiger mosquito'.
The female sucks and bites during the day and night. These mosquitoes are the most abundant in the rainy season. They reproduce in artificial collections of water i.e. water is found in broken bottles, flower pottery, fire bucket etc. Aedes mosquito are responsible for yellow fever (not present in India), dengue fever and hemorrhagic fever.
Male mosquitoes do not bite, only female mosquitoes cut because they need blood to lay eggs. Some mosquitoes live on human blood while others live on the blood.
Those mosquitoes who live on human blood are more dangerous than those who live on animal blood. Male mosquito life is not more than 1-3 weeks, while female mosquito can survive for 4 months or more.
Mosquitoes like to live in dark spaces. Some mosquitoes like anophilies avoid heat and light so they are hidden in the corners, under the baggage or in the shoes of the daytime, and they come out of their hiding places during search of food. In fact, they become more active after sunset and before the sunrise.
After sucking blood, they usually rest on the surface of the walls. Mosquitoes can not fly long distances, but can fly up to 2-3 kilometers from their reproductive places.
Control of mosquitoes:
(i) Do not allow water to be stored near houses. The lower areas should be filled with dust to eliminate the breeding grounds.
(ii) Sprinkle oil on the surface of water. Oil will spread on the water easily and it will partly kill the larvae and pupa of mosquitoes, part of the sinking, drowning and partly by its toxic action. The oil commonly used for this purpose is crude oil, kerosene oil, gasoline and malaria. There are drawbacks from sprinkling oil on water that it unfit for water and can kill the fish.
(iii) A recent technology is that some types of fish such as gambusia, barbados, lebiser are grown in water. Fish feed easily on mosquito larvae, due to this the mosquito larva gets reduced.
(iv) Shades of cattle and cattle should be sprayed with pesticides, with a wide variety of available in the market. These pesticides include DDT, BHC, and Malathian etc. which are recommended for the control of adult mosquitoes. These insecticides can still be sprayed better with a simple stirrup pump on walls and roofs or with compression pressure sprayer.
(v) Mosquito mosquitoes should be used or placed on the body in homes.
(vi) Use mosquito netting.
(vii) The doors, windows and ventilators of buildings should be equipped with fine gauge so that the mosquito and other insects can not enter the building.
