Choumahalla Palace Hyderabad is a palace of the Nizam of the state. This palace is built near the Charminar of Hyderabad city. It used to be the throne of Asaf Empire and the official house of the Nizam of Hyderabad. Later this palace remained the property of Nizam's successor, Barkat Ali Khan Mukram Jam.
In Urdu, four meanings (four) in Hindi mean 4 and in Persian also the meaning of Chahar is four, and in Urdu and Hindi the palace also means Palace, hence its name is named Chaumahalla. From the entry of the Nizam and from the reception of the Governor General to the ceremonial ceremony, all this is done.
Asia Pacific Marie Award for UNESCO's cultural heritage conservation was also given to the Choumahalla Palace on March 15, 2010. UNESCO Representative Takahiko Makino officially gave the plaque and proof to Queen Rani Isra, who was also the GPA holder of Sultan's ex-wife and Prince Mukram Jah Bahadur.
History of the Chowmahalla Palace
When Salabat Jung started its construction work in 1750, its construction work was completed between 1857 and 1869 at the time of Afzal Ad-Dawlah, Asaf Jah.
This is a unique palace for its size and elegance. The construction of this palace took place in the 18th century and after some years, it will be completed in a special and unique shape.
The Palace also has a court hall, fountain and gardens with 2 spacious patio. In fact, this palace is built in 45 acres (1,80,000 m²), but only 12 acres (49,000 m) are left today.
Northern Patio:
In this part of the palace there is a long corridor of the rooms called Baram Imam, with its mouth towards the central fountain and pool towards the façade.
The palace features an ornate plaster made in the Mughal dom and arches and many Persian elements such as Durbar Hall (Khayafat Mubarak). This was the specialty of this building built in Hyderabad at that time.
There is also a building made of glass in the opposite direction of the twelve (big) Imam. This room was used at any time as a house house.
Southern Patio:
It is the oldest part of the palace and there are four palaces named Afzal Mahal, Mahout Mahal, Tahaniyat Mahal and Aftab Mahal. It has been constructed in neoclassical style.
Bell house (clock tower)
Ghuddi built on the main entrance of Chauhamahalla Palace is also known as Khilafat Ghuddi. This clock has been running for about 251 years. Every week the special mechanic watches the clock.
Khilafat Mubarak:
This square is the heart of the palace. The people of Hyderabad are very respected by it, because it used to be the throne of the Asaf Jahi empire. This durbar hall, embellished with a huge pillory, is made of pure marble, on which the Shahi Gaddi Takht-e-Scar has also been constructed.
This Nizam used to organize his courts, ceremonies and other religious activities. The 19 great palaces of the palace were re-established in the Royal Hall shortly before.
Roshan Bungalow:
It is believed that this was the sixth Nizam and this building was named after his Ami Roshan Begum.
Council Hall:
There is a rare collection of miscellaneous manuscripts and prized books in the building. The Nizam used to meet with his important officials and special guests here. This hall is currently the location of the temporary exhibition.
The present Nizam (Barkat Ali Khan Mukram Jah) and his family decided to restore the Choumahalla Palace - Chaumala Palace and keep open to the public public in January 2005. It took about 5 years to restore the palace in glory before the first palace.
